At Augusta National, Billy Hurley finds himself in a pretty good place

Billy Hurley isn’t sure how he’ll react Thursday when he tees off at 8:22 a.m. at none other than the Masters.

It’s the first shot at the Green jacket for the 34-year-old Annapolis resident and former U.S. Naval Academy golfer.

Hurley’s realizing his dream — the dream of any golfer. In another sense, it’s the end of a journey — a professional and emotional odyssey that took him through his five-year military commitment, years of establishing himself as a professional, grief over the suicide of his father in 2015 and joy at winning for the first time on the PGA Tour last summer at Congressional Country Club in Potomac.
